The diagrams below show the changes that have taken place at West park Secondary School since its construction in 1950.
The diagrams illustrate the transformation of West Park Secondary School from its original layout in 1950, through subsequent modifications in 1980 and 2010.
In 1950, the school was comprised of a main building situated next to residential houses, a farmland adjacent to it, and a playground situated behind the main building. This configuration entirely transformed by 1980, with the houses being replaced by a car park and a newly constructed science block. The farmland was converted into a sports field, maintaining the playground unchanged.
Further changes were implemented by 2010. The car park was expanded, leading to a reduction in the size of both the playground and the sports field. Nonetheless, the main structure of the school and the science block remained unchanged throughout this period.
Overall, the most significant changes over these decades were the elimination of the residential area for educational and practical purposes, and the expansion of the car park to accommodate growing needs.
