General and Academic Writing TASK 2 Answers to the problem In both the academic and general training module Problem 2 requires candidates to formulate and develop a position in relation to a given prompt as a question or statement. Ideas must be supported by evidence and examples can be taken from their own experience. There must be at least 250 responses words in length. Writing scripts are marked trained and certified IELTS examiners. Results can be presented as whole stripes or half stripes. On the next 12 pages you will find candidates answers to two sample written tests. there is two answers for each written assignment. Every answer received a group assessment and is accompanied by a commentary by an expert on the candidate's effectiveness for this task. Detailed performance descriptors have been developed which describe written performance at the 9 IELTS bands. These descriptors apply to both the Academic and General Training Modules.
