IELTS Reading
IELTS Reading is a different section for IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training applicants. In this section, test takers must answer 40 questions in 60 minutes. Examiners measure the ability of a logical argument, the author's opinion, and the purpose of the excerpt given to the test taker. The IELTS Academic Reading section includes 3 reading passages taken from magazines, books, magazines, and Newspapers. Basically, the writing style of all these passages varies from discursive, analytical, and descriptive. Testers should understand the purpose of writing these articles. Similarly, in the IELTS General Training consists of 3 sections. All these excerpts are taken from advertisements, ads, reference books, or magazines. The writing styles of the passages in these sections are mainly descriptive, instructive or argumentative in nature. This version of the test is intended for those applicants who want to apply for secondary education (below the degree level) or a Visa related to work or study programs, or a PR Visa for migration to English-speaking countries (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom).
