More and more people have started to move out of their home cities, or even countries, to start a life in somewhere new. While this can be quite an incredible experience with many advantages, it is an undeniable fact that it comes with a number of challenges as well. However, individiuals can find ways to overcome these challenges.
The first and foremost difficulty of leaving your hometown is that it makes you leave your comfort zone. Going from a city where you know everything about, from street names to where the best shops are, it can be extremely difficult to moving to a new place where you have to use your maps app to find your way. In addition, if an individiual has no friends in where he/she moved, this can make the situation even more challenging as making friends after a certain age is not as easy as doing it in young ages. However, these challenges are not without a solution. If one is commited enough to live in a different place, with showing some effort he/she can make new friends, learn more about the city and create a new comfort zone from scratch. While it can sound difficult to achieve, it certainly is not impossible.
For people who chose to move abroad, I think there is even a greater challenge which is the language barrier. As a person who experienced living in two different countries other than my own, not knowing the language was the most rigorous aspect. Although most people could speak English in both countries I’ve lived, from my point of view communicating in English is never enough and if an individual is devoted to adapt to this new country, learning the language is a must.
In conclusion, while moving out of your hometown can sound intimidating and can come with many difficulties I believe with enough motivation and hard work these challenges can be overcomed.
