Some people claim that sharing a significant amount of information for scientific, business, and academical purposes is beneficial; however, other oppose this statement by believing that it can be stolen without even. I agree with the latter viewpoint because publishing information freely can have consequences in most of the cases.
On the one hand, projects dealing with global problems can use some shared piece of information as a boost of progress. Moreover, online data can be used in any other occasions, which helps solving any issues. For example, AI developers often use data from websites to escalate the perfomance of the program. On the other hand, I think that published information, that has relation with the publisher's project, can be stolen and even lead to huge innovation, and the publisher will not recieve anything. And in the worst scenario, the creator's project might get repealed.
On the other hand, sharing valuable information without any restrictions might be disasterous. If the campany's project is easily accessable, other companies can steal some information in order to create a similar one. This would make all the effort and money spent on the project not worthwhile. As a result, the company might stop investing time and money on its project, which will lead to the cancellation of the project. Therefore I believe that valuable information should become private, since it can be used against the author in a negative way.
In conclusion, even though valuable data can help dealing with any problems, free access to the project's information can lead to unwanted issues with organizer's career.
