Too much traffic in britain as compared to 1980sPublic transport should be introduced and laws on ownership of private cars should be created. v. 2
A significant increase in the number of vehicles has been noticed in the past decade. Cars are no more a luxury and have rather become a basic need. This rapid increase in the number in the number of cars has badly influenced the environment we live in. Vehicles not only harm the nature but pose adverse effects on our health as well. Now, its high time that public transport should be encouraged and strict laws regarding ownership of cars should be introduced. With a rise in the number of vehicles the health of our planet has declined significantly. Vehicular emissions are the main cause of air pollution not only in India but all over the world. The government should encourage cleaner fuels like CNG which cause less harm to the nature and are eco-friendly as well. Moreover, governments should also monitor the ration of cars on road. For instance, the government of Singapore issues vehicles on lottery basis, keeping the traffic proportionate to the ecological status of the nature. The public transport is so efficient that people choose travelling through it only. Such initiatives help the government to control both traffic and environment related hazards. Vehicles not only are hazardous for the nature but, pose a great threat to human health as well. Nowadays people use their cars to go to short distances, which makes them physically unactive. Many young children take up cars, which is both illegal and makes them unfit too. Moreover, the habit of walking and cycling among youngsters has also seen a significant decline. According to the survey conducted by Indian Institute of Technology(Delhi) the introduction of power driven scooty has led to 30% decline in the sales of cycles. This proves that cycling is being curbed by vehicles. Hence, the status symbol attached with possession of vehicles should be removed and government should encourage the use of public transport among the people. This will help in restoring the ecological balance and make people more fit as well.
