The line chart compares the figure of daily passengers who travel by three different forms of transport in the UK from 1970 to 2030. Overall, the UK commuters prefer using the car to going by bus and train, and bus passengers tend to decrease in 60 years. Between 1970 and 2015, there was a dramatic increase in the number of car commuters from around 5 to 7 million. In this time, although the figure of bus users was nearly double the number of train passengers which was around 2 million (1970), the figure of bus users reduced slowly to the same number of train commuters which was 3. 5 million (2015). In 2030, car users are expected to grow continuously to reach a peak of 9 million. While the number of train passengers is predicted to climb quickly to just below 5 million (2030), it is anticipated that the figure of the bus commuters will decrease slightly to the number which is less than three times the number of car users (2030).
