The pie chart illustrates the energy production in the US from five different sources( oil, natural gas, coal, hydroelectric power and nuclear power ) in two different years 1980 and 1990. Overall, the large amounts of energy production for the United States of America was from oil in both the given years. While the least amount of energy was sourced from nuclear power in 1980 and the hydroelectric power in both 1980 and 1990. The amount of energy production by the oil was largest in the United States and accounted 42% in 1980 and then, the coal dramatically declined its output in 1990 yielding 33% only. The proportion of energy from hydroelectricity power, on the other hand, remained constant in both years 1980 and 1990 at a mere 5%. The energy generated from natural gas was a second largest source of energy which stood at 26% in 1980, while it declined slightly by only 1% in 1990. In contrast, the energy production by coal was at 22% in 1980 meanwhile, it increased by 5% in 1990. Similarly, there was a rise of 5% in the energy production by nuclear power from 5% in 1989 to 10% in 1990.
