The bar chart depicts the number of hours of leisure time spent by two different genders which are males and females with different employment status. The number of hours of leisure time is measured on weekly basis from 1998 to 1999.
In overall, women had greater number of hours of leisure time than men. It is surprised to note that when both genders were in the same employment status, males had more time spent on leisure activities than females. This refers to the people who were employed full-time, unemployed, and retired. The other striking feature was that the categories of unemployed and retired had the same amount of leisure time in which the men was having around 90 hours while the women was having roughly 70 hours per week. As for the employed full-time category, males had 50 hours of free time whereas women had less than 40 hours of leisure time. The leisure time of employed full-time category was merely a half of the leisure time of unemployed and retired categories.
The other two categories of employment status were divided into employed part-time and housewives. It is amazed to note that men had zero leisure time in these two categories. On the other hand, housewives who were females had more leisure time than females who were employed as part-time workers. The number of hours spent on leisure activities by these two categories were approximately 50 hours and 40 hours respectively.
