The pie charts below show units of electricity production by fuel source Australia and France in 1980 and 2000 v. 7
The pie charts depict the generation of units of electricity by fossil fuels in two different countries in1980 and 2000. The striking feature of the chart is maximum consumption of coal in Australia. At a fleeting glance, it is clearly observed that Australia surged its production by 70% in two decades. the use of coal was two-fold in 1980 while it became three-fold in 2000. Although, 30% generation was dependent on oil and natural gas which remained almost 2. 5% in the latter period. However, Hydropower usage was approximately a uniform in both time intervals. Moving further, France doubled its production in the given time period. In 1980, Natural gas and coal were equally preferred in the process while Hydropower was used by 5. 5%. In the subsequent years, Nuclear power was extensively used in the production whereas the natural gas as well as hydropower was nominally used. All-in-all, France produced a few units by consuming Nuclear power. On the contrary, Australia utilized coal to a great extent.
