Overall, it can be clearly seen that the town underwent a significant modernization over the given period, becoming less green and more built-up. In 2002, there used to be trees in both northwestern and southwestern corners of the town, but they were cut down, so that new apartments and a football stadium could be introduced on their locations, respectively. The factory located east of the city centre was knocked down, and now there is a software company in its area. Another notable change is the demolition of the old cinema to make way for a pub.
