Initially, in the year 1987, there was only about 25 vehicles per one thousand people, which was the lowest number over the given period. However, it rose slightly nearly to 75 vehicles per thousand people in 1991, which showed an increase of about 500 vehicles per thousand people. Interestingly, there was a sharp rise in the number of vehicles in one thousand people from 1991 to 1995. The number went up from around 75 to just below 200, with an increase of approximately 125 vehicles in one thousand people.
Last but not least, the number of vehicles per thousand people reached its highest point in 1999 with a figure of just above 400. In other words, there was a tremendous rise in the number of vehicle ownership of more than 200 from 1995 to 1999.
