The bar chart indicates how much is being spent on fast foods by various income groups in Britain. The line graph, on the other hand, depicts the trends of consumption on three types of fast foods which are hamburgers, fish and chips, and pizza from 1970 to 1990. According to the bar chart, it can be noticed that high income group spent the greatest amount of money on hamburgers each week compared to other fast foods. The chart shows each person in this income group spent above 40 pence per week on hamburgers while the money spent on fish and chips and pizza were below 20 pence per week. Aside from that, the amount of money spent by average income group on hamburgers, fish and chips and pizza were below 35 pence, 25 pence, and 13 pence each week. It is surprising to notice that average income group favoured fish and chips more than pizza and its expenditure on fish and chips was higher than the high income group. As for the low income group, each person showed the highest spending on fish and chips than on hamburgers and pizza each week. The amount of money spent by this income group on the three types of fast foods were roughly 18 pence, around 15 pence, and 8 pence respectively. The line graph shows that the fast food which had the highest quantity of consumption in 1970 was fish and chips. It was then followed by hamburgers and pizza. The quantity of consumption of fish and chips in 1970 was above 300 grams. This fast food showed a decline trend in which by 1990, the amount fell to below 250 grams. As for the hamburgers and pizza, both showed an inkling trend in term of consumption in which by 1990, the figures were above 500 grams and below 300 grams respectively. To sum up, high income group indicates the highest level of expenditure on fast foods while low income group showed the lowest level of expenditure. Besides, people tend to consume fish and chips more in 1970. However, in 1990, people change their preference by consuming hamburgers more instead.
