Proportion of household income five European countries spend on food and drink, housing, clothing and entertainment v. 2
The table displays the percentages of the household expenditures on four categories of products and services, including food and drink, housing, clothing and entertainment, in five different European countries.
It is clearly that food and drink along with housing occupy the vast majority of the customer spending in each country. By contrast, clothing is the category with the smallest proportion in the table.
Out of the five countries, Turkish spend the biggest of household spending on food and drink, at 36%, while expenditure on housing account for the highest percentage in the UK, at 37%. The proportion of spending on clothing and entertainment is significantly higher in Germany, at 15% and 19% respectively, than in any of the other countries.
It can be seen that Germany has the lowest expenditure of household income for food and drink, at 22%, while housing is the smallest figure of consumer spending in Spain, at 18%. French and Spanish spend the least on clothing, at 7% and 8% respectively. Turkey has quite higher figures for these categories, but the lowest spending on entertainment, at only 10%.
