he diagrams below show the design for a wave-energy machine and its location.
The provided diagrams represents the design for a wave-energy machine and the location options where it should be placed. The machine is divided into two chambers. The upper chamber consists of turbine and electricity generator and the bottom chamber takes in the water from waves. The wave-energy machine is somewhat submerged in the sea to take in the water that comes from waves. This causes the increase in the water level inside the machine which in effect pushes the remaining air upwards. This air flow causes the blades of the turbines to rotate. The placement of blades as well as inlets and outlets of air is done in such a way that all the air flow helps turbine to rotate faster. The inlet of air entring the machine from top is on the left side of the machine and the air traveled through the machine from bottom exits from the right side of the machine. The turbine is connected to the electricity generator that produces electricity from the rotation of turbine. The placement of this wave-energy machine can be done is different ways which is explained in the second diagram. The diagram says that placing the wave-energy machine close to shore is cheaper compared to far in the ocean because of the installation costs while the waves near shore are smaller compared to far in the ocean. One important point shown in the diagram is that small waves causes low electricity out than large waves. This concludes that the decision of selecting the location for installation of wave-energy machine is based on a trade-off between installation costs and energy outputs.
