Overall, there was a slight reduction in the marriage rate while the number of divorces fluctuated in a span of 30 years. The quantity of married people gained the highest percentage while the widowed and divorced persons took up the low proportion in both 1970 and 2000. It is clear from the first chart that the number of marriages stayed the same at 2, 5 millions in 1970 and 1980.
