As a result, there should be an increase in import duties on all raw materials used in the production of processed meats. This will help to reduce the circulation of these contents in the local market. In addition, increasing value added tax on the retail produce will discourage consumers from purchasing them.
In conclusion, taxes have been an effective tool used by previous administrations in curbing certain behavior among the citizenry. Replicating this act will help to protect the lives of the average Nigerian. The agricultural sector should also be empowered to be able to meet the demand of the populace, when the need arises.
