The table below gives information about the underground railway systems in six cities.
The table provides some details about date opened, kilometres of route and how many passengers per year use underground railway system in six metropolises. It is clearly that London was the first city who had an underground railway system opened in 1863. Moreover, it is the longest system in the world because the route of railway system has 394 km, but annually 775 millions of passengers use this kind of transport. After 39 years, Paris released their railway system which has 199 km transporting yearly 1191 million passengers, it seen is more used than London`s railway system. In terms of numbers of travellers, Tokyo`s metro system is smaller than London`s one, but in every year are transported 1927 million individuals almost double than Paris system. In contrast, the smallest underground railway system is from Kyoto having only 11 km used by 45 million of people annually. Not so far is the Los Angeles`s system with a length of 28 km, opened in 1981, after 4 years of the release of Washington`s railway system which serves 144 millions of passengers.
