The maps belowe show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and in 2010.
The given maps compare the changes in village of Stokeford in 1930 and 2010. It can be clearly seen from the maps that the village saw a considerable increase in population aw the number of houses grew bigger. On the other hand, agriculture declined as there used to be a farmland in 1930 and in 2010 it dissapeared. Considering the center of the village in 1930, there used to be a large house surrounded by gardens. Along the main pathway, there was just a few houses, a post office and a primary school. On the north side of the village, there was a bridge located away from the centre which allowed the citizens to cross the River Stroke. This object remained the same over a period of 80 years. While the patway in 2010 became extended, the number of dwellings along it grew bigger at the same time. Other thing that remained the same until 2010 was a post office situated opposite of a primary school that has been enlarged. Instead of the large manor surrounded by gardens in 1930, 80 years later, the gardens were reduced and a retirement home was built.
