The diagram below shows the production of electricity using a system called Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion OTEC v. 1
The diagram illustrates the process of producing electricity by using a system called Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC). Overall, the system creates electricity using the different temperatures between deep cold ocean water and warm tropical surface waters. To begin, before flowing into an evacuated evaporation chamber, warm seawater is converted into water vapour by solar energy, the temperature to heat up the surface of the ocean can be up to 29 degrees. Next, inside the chamber, salt and saltless water vapour are separated from saltless water vapour. While entering into a condensing chamber, saltless water vapour turns a turbine rotate and the electricity is then generated as a result. Turning to the following stages, inside the condensing chamber, saltless water vapour is cooled by the cold water from the depths of the ocean, the temperature using to freeze at this stage can increase to maximal 5 degrees. After that, at the same time, salt water waste is recharged from cold seawater and the process also produces drinking water; and all steps above can be repeated.
