The bar chart compares the number of men and women teachers in six different types of educational settings in the UK in 2010. Overall, it is clear that the number of women teaching in nursery school and pre-school and primary school was the most, while the figure for men teachers was highest in university.
Regarding from the chart, in the UK, most of the women teachers chose to teach in lower grades. Close to 100% of teachers who were female preferred to teach in nursery school and primary school, and around 90% of women teachers taught in primary school, while fewer men who taught in those schools, at approximately 5%. By contrast, university accounted for the highest men teachers, at about 70% compared to about 30% of women teaching in this school.
It is interesting to note that, the number of men and women teaching in secondary school, college and private training institutes was the same, at around 50%.
