There is no doubt that homework is becoming an indispensable part of children' s education. Some people argue that homework helps children enormously whereas other think that it is a burden on them. In spite of its drawbacks, I believe that daily homework should be given to children.
In the first place, doing exercises is an efficient way to review and get more understanding. Obviously, " practice makes perfect" . After lessons, children do their assignments to reinforce the learnt knowledge as well as answer the difficult questions about the teacher' s lecture by themselves. Besides, 45 minutes is not enough time for teachers to teach all the studying methods. Thus, some parts of a lecture are often given to students as homework. It means if they work hard, they will understand lesson more deeply and get better results.
Apart from that, free time is able to be used more positively by doing homework. After school time, children have a lot of spare time and the activities they often do at that time are playing games or chatting with their friends on Facebook. In fact, these activities are not absolutely good for their health. Therefore, doing assignments helps control their time. Moreover, it also gives insight among students about the importance of education in life. Consequently, they will be more responsible for their studying as well as they will arrange a suitable timetable to learn.
Last but not least, homework is a means of checking student' s patience and passion. Indeed, among exercises, there are some difficult forms which only students having endurance and interest with the subject can find the solutions. As a matter of fact, many students determine to spend more time solving their matter and then they find new ways that are much shorter and more creative. In other words, doing assignments also encourages children to expand their creativity.
To sum up, it is essential for teachers to give daily exercises to students. However, they ought to give homework to them in a certain limitation, don' t make homework become an unnecessary burden on children.
