Overall, the portion of export to China and India increased and that of United states and Japan decreased during this period.
Regarding China and India, in 1990, their proportion of exports from Australia was around 3% each. India's imports went up gradually after stability from 1990 to 2000 and experienced a high in 2010, at approximately 8%. Then, it witnessed a small fall and stood at above 5 in 2012, which was the lowest amount in that year among the four countries. But, China received an increasing amount of imports from 1990 to 2012 without any fall ( 30% ), which was the highest number for that year, despite starting at almost an equal amount to India in 1990.
Turning to Japan, it allocated more than a quarter of exports percentages from Australia in 1990 however, its trend dipped to 20 in 1995 and continued its decline more slowly to stand at 17 in 2012. On the other hand, the exports to the US, which was around 12 in 1990, stood at 7% after seeing an up and down.
