Dear Neighbour, I am writing this letter with regard to your complaint pertainig to difficulties you faced last week at night due to noise coming from my house. First of all, to let you know the noise that you were listening was of the drilling machine that was frequently used by our carpenter. Since we are undergoing some furniture work at home, this requires drilling machine to be used at some time intervals. I sincerely apologise for the sound pollution you faced at night which caused lack of concentration for your children in studying. I had no intension to create problem for my neighbours since being a parent I understand your concern. In order to avoid repeating that mistake, I would take necessary actions. Those actions would include restricting the working hours of carpenter in morning and closing all doors and windows of my house to minimise the sound leaving my house.
