Dear Sally, I am your neighbor Renee. I think you might have heard some noises from the apartment that I live in, especially at night time. I am really sorry that you have to endure the noises made by my dog. I tried to calm my dog down and to reduce the noises he made, but I failed because he just lost his friend and he is very sad. I have two dogs, Toto and Yoto, who lived together for more than 5 years in my apartment. They are good dogs and did not make any trouble for me or the neighbors. But 1 week ago, my parents came and took Yoto away for a road trip. But after Yoto left, Toto started to run around in my apartment and tried to find Yoto. And when he cannot find Yoto, he goes to the balcony and barks loudly, which is his way of calling his friend to come home. And he does this several times a day. Although I tried to distract him with food and calm him down when he barks out loud, it did not seem to work. Simply because he misses his friend too much, I think. Again, I am really sorry that you and your family have to deal with the noises from my dog last week and today and tomorrow. But the good news is that Yoto will be back with my parents in 2 days' time. I think after Toto sees his friend again, he will stop his annoying behaviors and everything can go back to normal. But during today and tomorrow, if you do feel like you need to talk to me, please feel free to knock on my door, as I will be home the whole time to look after my dog, Toto.
