Dear Sarah, Hope this letter finds you well. I am writing this letter in response to your complaint about the noise coming from my house last night. First of all, I want to apologize for the inconvenience caused to you due to the noise. I can understand, it can be very discomforting and annoying to hear thud sounds coming from the next door, especially during the late night hours. With the recent snow storm and power outage, one of the kitchen water pipe was broken and the house was flooded with water. Due to the critical breakdown, we had to call the plumber right away and get the problem fixed. While doing so, in order to locate the leakage, the plumber had to drill from the outer wall of the house. That was the source of the hammering noises which lasted a couple of hours between 9: 00pm till 11: 00 pm. Luckily, the worker was able to fix the issue before it could cause any more damage to the house.
