Dear Marina, I am writing this letter to ask your permission for my vacation. I am Jayant and I work at the research and department  in your company. I have some urgent work, therefore I need a break from my job. The reason I applied for the time off is due to the fact that my grandfather's health is very bad. He is admitted in the hospital for the last one week, moreover, he has a problem in breathing. He wants to see me and everyday ask me the same question, "when you will be here". I want to support him in his hard time, consequently, I need to go to India as soon as possible. I need at least three weeks off from the workplace in light of the fact that my home town is outside Canada and I need to do a two weeks mandatory quarantine as per the government guidelines. Furthermore, travelling between two countries will consume two days owing to the fact that by air it takes 20 hours for one side. You need not to worry about my work, I have already talked with the other team members and we reached the conclusion that during my time off I will take the customer's request which I can do from anywhere.
