Hi, Alex,
I was so glad to hear from you. I hope my letter finds you in good health and mood. First of all, let me congratulate your graduation from school. As far as I understood from you letter you are hesitating to take a gap year before entering college or go on with your academic education.
On one hand, I am sure you will pass your entering exams with flying colors, as you are so hard-working. Yet, I would advise you not to enter the college this year. I can bring numerous reasons proving a year’s break from study may benefit you greatly, but let me focus on a few of them.
Last year at school was a hard one for you emotionally and physically. Frankly speaking, you really need a rest. All the tension of the school-leaving examinations will reflect on your future studies. Take a week’s vocation and travel to some distant country. Let your mind relax.
After you return with your mind fresh, try to find a job in the marketing field. If my mind serves me right, you have chosen it for your major studies at the university, haven’t you? You can hardly imagine the advantages of a year’s work experience. I can drop a line to a friend of mine specializing in that area. I am sure a smart boy like you could be of great help at their office.
Whatever you decide, I wish you success on your way. Let me know if you need a piece of advice or any other help.
My warmest wishes and blessings.
Antony
