Dear Ms. Snyder, I am writing this in regard to a formal request for a two-week vacation. As you may have noticed, the year is approaching its end and I would like to take some time off so that I could spend time with my family back in Vietnam. It has been 3 years since I last visited them and it is hard to deny that I miss them a great deal. In relation to specific details, I would like to take my leave on Monday, December 1st and return to work on Monday, December 15th. After careful consideration, I believe this would be a perfect time since the two weeks after could be very busy due to Christmas season and it might not be the wisest choice to go on a vacation. All the tasks that I am currently working on will definitely be completed before I leave. I have also consulted with Mary Williams, one of the most experienced colleagues in my team and she is willing to carry on my part as a temporary representative. In order to make up for my absence, I would be very much happy to discuss any further plans to ensure my workload is covered. During my leave, I will be able to check my email regularly to answer any questions or provide any assistance needed, so please feel free to reach out at any time.
