Dear Mr Smith, I am writing to apologize to you for missing the team meeting on Wednesday. Let me explain my situation in more detail. I had a medical emergency in my family and I had to be there with them. My father accidentaly slipped from staircase and landed on his back injuring his spinal cord so we had to rush him to the hospital. He seems to be improving now and hopefully will be back to normal soon. I know how important the meeting was for our entire team and I would definetly try to make it up to it. I went through the minutes of meeting email shared across with all the important pointers from the meeting and now I feel well informed.
