My dear Amy, How are you? I hope everything is well. I guess you are enjoying your free time before you decide on going to the UK as an au-per. I´ll try to give you my opinion about your question. As far as my personal experience, it was a lovely experience, and at the same time tiring. Because you are far away from your folks, and you miss them. Though, in my case, I took advantage of that and improved my English level and make plenty of friends around the world. Regarding the au-per qualities, I believe you have all the skills, that it is required to do it. You are easy-going and good-mannered. Those skills are the key when you have to deal with kids. Some times, they are rude to foreign au-per, and they´ll try to be naughty and spoilt with you. In these cases, patience will be the best tool to gain their confidence. Amy, I truly believe the best stuff that you can do is to do your best learning English because the parents speak fast. You´ll have to put in many things and share daily life at home with them.
