Dear Mr. Smit,
I am one of the students living on the campus, and I am writing to file a complaint about the hardship I am facing.
I am a sophomore majoring in computer engineering at university, and I have to live in a dormitory to be close to the university and library. I have been living in a double-bed room with another student who is studying music.
I face some difficulties with my roommate that seem to be unresolvable. As my roommate is studying music, he needs to spend a significant amount of time rehearsing his lessons. In addition, he invites his classmates, all of whom have vibrant personalities, enjoying loud activities, over three times a week both to enjoy their companionship and to practice their given notes. As a result, I can barely find a tranquil environment to concentrate on my study, or even to unwind.
I have tried really hard to avoid any arising conflicts by spending most of my time at the library for the past month. However, I am done compromising. I believe that authorities should take pupil’s majors into account when assigning roommates so as to prevent these kinds of situations. As I have suffered significantly since the beginning of the term, I suggest that a dedicated single room be allotted to me for the rest of the term. In this way, the time that has been wasted would be compensated.
I hope my situation will change as soon as possible.
Sincerely yours,
Mohammad Lea
