You live in a room in college which you share with another student. However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it very difficult to work. Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In your letter describe the situation explain your problems and why it is difficult to work say what kind of accommodation you would prefer

Dear Mr Crawford, I am writing to you to register my complaint about my current living arrangement with James Madden in room 505, in the Watford hall of residence. James and I were paired as roommates at the start of the year and I have had issues with him from day one. He is quite frankly a rowdy individual, who particularly enjoys playing his video games on the loudest volume. I have classes that run into the afternoon every day, so I like to take a nap in the early evening before proceeding to the library to study. I have explained my schedule to James and offered to come up with a timetable for my naps and his game sessions. However, James refused to cooperate, and he seems to take particular delight in playing video games at the time when I want to nap or worst still, in the middle of the night. I barely get a goodnight's sleep and it is affecting my ability to study, and in turn, affecting my performance. I have made several complaints to the Hall Officer in charge at Watford, Mr Cowley, and he has issued a number of warnings to James. But these have not had the desired effect. I would therefore like to request to be transferred to a single-occupant room. I am aware that there are such rooms vacant in the Barley hall of residence.
