Dear Mr Crawford,
I am writing to you to register my complaint about my current living arrangement with James Madden in room 505, in the Watford hall of residence.
James and I were paired as roommates at the start of the year and I have had issues with him from day one. He is quite frankly a rowdy individual, who particularly enjoys playing his video games on the loudest volume. I have classes that run into the afternoon every day, so I like to take a nap in the early evening before proceeding to the library to study. I have explained my schedule to James and offered to come up with a timetable for my naps and his game sessions. However, James refused to cooperate, and he seems to take particular delight in playing video games at the time when I want to nap or worst still, in the middle of the night. I barely get a goodnight's sleep and it is affecting my ability to study, and in turn, affecting my performance.
I have made several complaints to the Hall Officer in charge at Watford, Mr Cowley, and he has issued a number of warnings to James. But these have not had the desired effect. I would therefore like to request to be transferred to a single-occupant room. I am aware that there are such rooms vacant in the Barley hall of residence.
I hope you will consider my request and I look forward to hearing from you in the shortest possible time.
Yours sincerely,
Killey Mitford.
