Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writting this letter in regards to the advertisement posted on the newspaper on 10th May regarding the job vacancy in the City Museum. A brief introdction about myself, I am 25year old Alex Floren. I come from Ohio, USA and I moved here, to London, in 2019 for my masters in History. I am at the central library for a part time receptionist job. I work there from 6 to 8 in the evening. Since I am a history student, I visit the Museum often for my research and have always been facinated and awe struck by the artifacts there.
I understand that a candidate with prior experience and skills would have a greater advantage. That is where, my intership at college plays a major role. During my college I was working in the Local Museum as a tour guide for my internship. I was in this role for close to 10months after which I completed my intership course. Since I was the tour guide, I had to understand and have full knowledge on all the artifacts in the museum. I enjoyed reading about them. Also, we had a regular flow of visitors to the museum. Tje visitors were of different categories and age groups. Starting from school kids to very elderly citizens. Thus, I had to know techniques on how to engage different age group of audience. The techniques differed with the age group. Occasionally, we would also have visitors from other countries, mostly India. Thus, out of self interest I have picked up a few Hindi words to relate better with them. I believe this experince and skill will help me a lot with the vacancy in your museum too.
I would like to explain my interest in the job. This job will be very relatable to me becasue of my course of study. It will be very benifical for me to work closely with something that I am very passionate about. I will get the opportunity to read about all the artifacts and it will help me to relate it to the already known facts. Also, I might also explore some new fun facts which will be very interesting for me.
Looking forward to a positive response from you.
Yours faithfully,
Alex
