Dear Jane, I am writing to apologise for missing your party which you hold on last Sunday. Let me explain the incident in more details. As you know, I live in a new high building which was built a year ago. My flat is on the nineth floor. That day one thing was broken by my daughter in the bathroom. Then, not surprisingly thre was flood water. My neighbours who lived on the eighth floor were very upset. For this reason I had to repair it immediately. By the way, I am extremely sorry and sincerely apologise for not participating. However, you always come to my birthdays with our classmates.
