You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write at least 150 words. You have been offered a job, asking you to start next week. You want the job very much but, because of a previous commitment, you want to delay the start for another two weeks. Write to the Manager, accepting the job, but explaining your situation and asking for the change to your start date.

Dear Sir/Madam, This letter is in regard to the job offer your organisation has send start from 15th May next Saturday. I would like to express my gratitude and joy for becoming an part of your company. I was already informed that the position I am appointed for is senior psychologist who will be working with the executive employees. Unfortunately, it will be difficult for me to join from 15th May. As my parents are elderly citizen who need to be looked after by a caretaker. Arranging for any custodian is not possible on such a short notice. Hence I would like to request you to extend my notice period from 7 days to 14 days. I would be able to report to the office physically on 27th May without any cognitive conflict. Employing the attender would not take long but the procedure of licence registration will be an obstacle. Hoping for an positive response. kind regards, H. F
