Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing in response to an article published in your magazine, The Monologue, last Friday, about my home country, India.
It was a pleasant surprise to see an article about the culture of my homeland. However, as I continued reading it, I was disheartened to see the misinformation it contained regarding the cultural emphasis on Hinduism. Along with that, stating that metropolitan cities in India did not have any historic places to visit is also incorrect.
While reading the article, I came across a part that mentioned how Hinduism is the only religion that is majorly practiced in India. On the contrary, the truth is that India is a diverse democratic country and everyone follows their religious practices and beliefs. Secondly, the article also highlighted that the cities lacked historic spots to visit and know more about the Indian culture. I would like to point out that it is misconstrued information. In reality, historic places like Qutub Minar and Gateway of India are located in two of the biggest cities, Delhi and Mumbai.
It would be my suggestion to you that this article is rectified and re-published with the correct facts at the earliest. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Aarunima.
