My name is Rahmat Awoliyi and I live on Johnson Street. I am writing this letter to bring to your notice the accumulation of trash in our local park. The local park situated at Thomas Street is filled with trash deposited by the people of our community. The stench emanating from the trash is a major concern to the neighborhood. Also, the trash is scattered all over the street making the neighborhood look very dirty and unkempt. As you would agree with me that this trash can cause major health problems to the people if not drastically attended to. It already breeds lots of flies and mosquitoes which can cause malaria. Malaria is one of the most deadly diseases in the world. Therefore, I suggest that waste management companies should be contacted to dispose off the accumulated trash. In addition, each household should be provided with waste bin to enable them dispose their trash properly, instead of having to dump them in the local park. Lastly as a means to caution the people, I suggest that a fine be placed on any erring person caught disposing trash at the local park.
