Dear Mr. Thomas, I am writing this letter regarding your request of increasing the rent of your apartment where I am currently living with my family. We shifted to this house last year in the month of April and signed the lease agreement for 2 years. In the agreement, it is clearly mentioned that rent will remain the same for this time-period. Hence, I would request you to re-check the details. In addition to this, I have recently lost my job due to Covid-19 pandemic situation and facing challenges in managing the household expenses. In such a situation, there is no possibility for me to take on extra burden of rent hike. As we have a legal agreement, I am in no boundation of agreeing to your unrealistic demands. I do not want to take any legal actions, hence would request you to be considerate. In case, you still want to take this further, then you will leave me with no option, otherthan filling a complaint with society and local police. I have attached a copy of our rental contract and highlighted the section where terms and conditions are mentioned related to rent to be paid.
