Dear Mrs/ Ms, I’ve got a problem and I really need your advice. It seems like my mother and I are not on the same board on anything. Every time I voice out my opinion, she rejects it outright and supposes that I’m too childish to make the decision. Once I was cooking my own lunch for school using a recipe from an internet website, she stood behind me and kept criticizing how I did things. It was honestly disturbing. The issue is the same with other situations. She can neither bear the ways I’m dressing, studying, entertaining, or socializing. I’ve tried a million times to communicate with her, but it’s never worked. She thinks I merely want to attack her defense and betray her attempts of upbringing me.
