Why do people like to receive letters? Do you agree that it is easier to express your feelings in a letter than during a talk? 3g9OY
Nowadays, with social networks' position in our daily lives, receiving a letter is something rather rare. In fact, I have never received a personal letter myself, but I definitely would be delighted to get one. I believe getting a letter can make a person smile happily. It is much like a Christmas present, you don't know what's inside and cannot understand the value before opening it up and reading eventually. In addition, I think it's like reading a little story, a complete structured thought that makes sense, not your typical phone message. At first, I would have said that it's easier to express your feelings in a talk than in the letter because you can take some words back, maybe you've said something stupid and can basically say "forget about it. ". Not to mention, in a talk you can use slang to make your words easier to comprehend. On the contrary, letters don't have that luxury. When writing one you need to understand that you have to make sure your sentences are readable and well organized and points that you have written are coming across as you wanted them to be. Indeed we must be kind and respectful to the reader. Finally, I suppose that this question is about two sides of the same coin, and I cannot take either. I believe that it would be easier for me to open up in a letter than speaking with someone because sometimes my mind goes blank as I'm introverted.
