Dear Sir/Madam
In this letter, I will introduce myself as a candidate of the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program for the master program in Construction Information Technology Engineering at Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
I graduated from civil engineering at Andalas University, Indonesia in January 2021. Four months later, I was accepted to work as a BIM Engineer at PT Hutama Karya a state-owned construction company until now. I work in the EPC sector in the construction of the largest oil refinery in Indonesia, namely Pertamina. There I apply the BIM system in the oil and gas sector, where before in college I used to use BIM in buildings. Here, I get very complex knowledge, starting from the Piping, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrument to process sections. I implement BIM based on ISO 1965 guide from BSI (British Standards Institute) which is a standardization for international organizations for organizing information about work in the construction sector.
Previously in college I was very interested in construction technology. In the second semester of my undergraduate course, I was selected as a Professor Assistant in Civil Engineering Department and placed in a Building Technology and Modeling Laboratory. On campus, I teach engineering drawings and building construction using related software to new students and 6th semester students. As a teaching assistant, I was provided with basic knowledge and BIM by the campus and was also trusted to be a software training tutor for the general public. Long before that, when I was in high school, I was very interested in IT and took IT extracurricular and focused there. Finally, I was chosen to be a school representative to take part in the IT national olympiad and become 1st winner in my city, so I was trusted to represent my regional to a higher level.
Honestly, I have a dream to continue my master's degree abroad. However, I haven't found a suitable field until I finally found this study program that covers the fields of construction and IT. Which I think fits my background very well. In addition, in Indonesia there is no field that teaches specific fields for IT and construction. Even for BIM, it has only been known in Indonesia for the last three years. There are no special courses and the scope of work is still very lay. Most have to find out their own knowledge. Therefore I really need the knowledge that I can get in detail from this program.
When I found out about the Stipendium Hungaricum Program, it gave me a great opportunity to further my studies and realize my goals. I was interested in studying in Hungary as it is an area with a historic city center, beautiful landscape and thriving culture. It is also a relatively safe country with a low rate of violent crime. In addition, Hungarian higher education has a considerable history and strong tradition with institutions operating for hundreds of years.
After completing my master's degree in Hungary, I will return to Indonesia to become a lecturer and expert in construction and IT to help Indonesian students, especially construction, develop in technology and global progress. And become an experts at companies in Indonesia in order to become a developed country in terms of construction technology.
Finally, I am overly determined to make the most out of the scholarship benefits. I ready and willing to devote myself and optimize every experience offered to me in the program. I am also confident that enrolling in your program would not only empower my career development but would also provide me with a framework to utilize my full potential. This being the case, I would sincerely appreciate if chosen to enroll in your scholarship program since this would bring me a step closer to achieving my goals.
Your truly,
Nurul Adha
