The line graph shows the number of enquiries received by the Tourist Information Office in one city over a 6-month period in 2011.
The presented line graph compares three means of information in terms of their reports received by the Tourist Information Office of a certain urban area from January to June in 2011. Overall, telephone was the least popular tool for enquiry among three surveyed counterparts, reflected by its lowest figure throughout the period. In addition, while it was also the only section expressing a general decrease, opposite trends were witnessed in remaining categories. Turning into detail, in the first quarter, starting at approximately 300, enquiries sent by telephone expanded gradually to reach the peak of exactly 400, which subsequently fell to below 300 queries in March. Meanwhile, similar levels of fluctuation were displayed in other groups. However, while face-to-face enquiries slightly went up, those of email remained unchanged at 400 at the end of this stage. Regarding to the next quarter, the figure for telephone questioning was kept stable by April, before declining steadily to above 200 questions in June. By contrast, in comparison queries sent by person, which grew considerably to over 800, the number for email significantly increased to about 1200 questions. Moreover, this remarkable gain made it surpass two remaining sectors to be the most prevalent mean of inquiring, according to data collected until June.
