Higher education is a turning point in anyone's life. The subject a person chooses in university leads him to his future career path. That's why choosing a university subject should be given utmost importance. So many people believe a student should study a subject according to his/her interest. On the contrary, some people argue with that and think a student should choose a subject based on science and technology which can be useful in future. If I would to give my opinion I would say a student should choose his subject according to his interest.
On the one hand, it is true that science and technology have a huge scope in the future. In recent years a lot of jobs have been created in this field. The programming language has become more and more essential in day-to-day life. Many existing jobs are now also linked to the computer. As technology is advancing, people are more and more relying on it. That's why studying science and technology-based subject opens a wide range of job opportunities.
On the other hand, a person can not fully devote him/herself to something which he/she doesn't find interesting. So if a student doesn't choose a subject according to his interest, he will not find it appealing and eventually he will get bored. Again subject chosen by the student's interest will motivate him to study harder. Surely learning more about a subject gains more knowledge and of course, knowledge is the main aim of the study. In conclusion, if a student chooses the subject he likes rather than science and technology, he may find some difficulties in the job sector but he will have a sheer thirst for knowledge of that subject. So ultimately, he will not be unemployed as he will gain knowledge of that subject.
