Dear British Council,
First and foremost, I would love to introduce some pieces of my general information. My name is Nguyen Thien Nhan. At the University of Science VNUHCM, I am a sophomore college student majoring in Information Technology - High-Quality program.
To clarify my motivation for being a teaching assistant, I prefer to tell a short narrative about how I got my enthusiasm for the job. It is kindly an ordinary story but meaningful to me. Since my younger brother entered his secondary school many years ago, I have spent much time mentoring him in some school subjects such as English, Maths, and Science. I realized his extreme difficulties in the study because of not having deep comprehension. At that time, I discovered my ardor to assist not only my brother but also the other young children who are the seeds of the nation. Every time doing so, my patience, compassion, sympathy, and teaching ability all steadily improve. Ultimately, my passion becomes so immense, leading me to this application today.
In terms of my academic records, I believe I have various accomplishments that exceed the requirements of the British Council to be a teaching assistant. Regarding my English proficiency, I have recently attained the IELTS test result with an overall score of 7. 0 from the Council, which is trusted to meet the fundamental English criterion. Furthermore, thanks to the college tutors who have assigned numerous coding projects and homework to their students to work in groups, it surprisingly leads not only my teamwork ability to a certain level but also my computer skills, including the indicated office applications, to be mastered outstandingly.
Regarding my experience, I have never worked as a teaching assistant before; nevertheless, there are a few experiences I trust to be practical for the teaching assistant position beyond mentoring my younger brother. When I was younger, I used to study in many different English language centers and teachers. As a result, it enables me to comprehend a wide range of lessons and employ a variety of distinctive teaching styles including their self-study methods, to know some of which the children enjoy and do not. Additionally, whenever I have free time, I frequently attempt to teach my mates peer-to-peer for their upcoming exams, both paid and by no charge. These experiences may not be particularly unique; however, they are among the most valuable experiences I have ever had as a sophomore college student in the education field.
To sum up, according to these abilities and achievements, I sincerely hope that I will get employed as a teaching assistant to work in a professional environment such as that of the British Council. By yielding me this position, it will become the beginning of my dream work to help the children improve their English proficiency as well as develop their soft skills and demanding knowledge. I believe and am confident that I will be a children-caring, trustworthy, and valuable applicant and employee of the Council.
Sincerely,
Nguyen Thien Nhan.
