I am writing this letter regarding the notice given by you for increasing the rent of the apartment. My name is Alex and I am the tenant of your apartment situated at High Road, Stanford Bridge, London. I have been living in this flat since last January 2020 with my wife and two children. My family members are adhering to the rules of the leased property while maintaining the apartment properly. I want to let you know that this proposal of surging the rent is illegal since it is clearly mentioned in the contract that priced would be changed bi-annually. Apart from this, prices are supposed to be increased at a rate of 3%, however, you decided to raise by 5%. Both of these statements are against the clauses of the contract. First of all, I request you to go through the contract which was signed by yourself before assigning the flat to me. I am sending a copy of the contract with this letter. However, still, If you think that increased rent is reasonable, I would not hesitate to put this case in consumer court. Hope you will rethink and follow the contract. Yours sincerely, Alex Mathew
