Dear Sir/Madam,
I believe this scholarship program could be perfect for me, therefore I am writing this letter to candidate myself for this grant. My name is Hazim Al-Abdalla and I am a high school student from Jordan, looking to apply for the stipendium hungaricum grant to study computer science.
Throughout the entirety of my childhood, I have cultivated a strong passion towards computers and the way machineries function, and with encouragement and mentorship by my uncle, I pursued my affection for this field. The problems and barriers that coding presents create an exhilarating challenge which I adore, those complications keep me focused on one thing and give me a strong urge of motivation to improve.
During my years, I have always achieved academic excellence ever since I entered school where I would always be a top student in the class and have gotten many awards as a result. My interest in computer science was something I had developed early on since I enjoyed computer lessons and participated in every competition I could, scoring highly is most of them. My biggest achievement in that field was getting second on the country in a WRO contest. I was also very active in school where I have always won the annual held math Olympics and spelling bee, in addition to participating in MUN debates and partaking in many conferences. And in my most recent years I took many coding courses to improve upon my skills including an online (introduction to computer science) course provided by Harvard. Although not all my activities were strictly academic, I made sure to volunteer whenever I could and took part in a campaign to raise awareness to the special skills disabled people could possess despite their challenges and have spread success stories to motivate others.
Due to my father’s unemployment, I am reliant on scholarships to pursue my education. Our current financial status does not allow me to continue my university studies. It has been over 11 years since my father has last worked and he is now in debt which reflects negatively on my future, although this financial dilemma has taught me the value of money and significance of hard work.
I strive to improve upon my skills and create something that will revolutionize the world. My main areas of interest are artificial intelligence and quantum computing, although one of the reasons I love computer science is because it is so branched and diverse thus I am open to any new specializations that may arise.
Regardless of the final decision, I would like to thank you for offering this scholarship and I greatly hope that you find this letter sufficient to explain my connection with programming, although no amount of words will truly describe
