We moved in your apartment just 3 months ago and your recent rent increase is very surprising to me. We decided to move into this apartment as the rent we agreed upon was affordable.
I know your home is well maintained and is situated at a prime location. But I also would like to inform you that I enquired neighbors about how much they are paying monthly, it is not as high as what you have asked us to pay. So I feel the rent increment is unreasonable.
My wife has lost her job due to a pandemic, since then I am the sole earner in my family. So it will take time for us to settle down with all the finance situation. If you decide to keep the same rent as before I will readily sign the lease for one year. We have been timely paying the rent every month and I am confident that there must be no complaint against us by the neighbors. I would like you to consider all these factors and rethink your decision.
If you are firm on rent the increment then I don't have any option but to vacate.
