Municipal committee has recently announced plans for London Stansted, which includes constructing a bigger terminal to cater more passengers along with constructing brand new runway on south side to enable higher number of aircraft movements per hour. The plan looks appealing on paper, but it fails to consider the hardship of 3000 residents of Stanwell compelling them to look for greener pastures. I will list down few reasons why committee needs to reconsider the plan for London Stansted: 1. The new terminal will require approximately 2000 hectares of Land of which 1200 hectares will be from Stanwell. This means many residents will have to relocate to vacate the land for the Aerodrome. 2.
