People are influenced by others for several reasons. For example, you are a person who don't really like to wear a shirt but people around you are wearing shirt and its now fashionable. You look others and you are influenced by them and you start wearing shirt even if you don't really like to wear it. Another example, in my point of view, famous people influence others. If you see any famous person who is wearing smth or doing smth. And he has a huge auditory and people see him and they are influenced by that person and do what he does or they wear what he wears. And there are a lot of examples to tell you.
There are few reasons why we help others and sometimes not. When you see a person who need a help you see and help him/her. Because you are a person and helping shows how friendly or how you care about people. For example, if I see any person who need a help I will definitely help him/her because I am a person and maybe I will also face a situation that I will also need a help from someone. We are all humans and should help each other. Because no one knows what happens with us tomorrow morning or after few minutes. If you help then you will also be helped by someone when you will need a help.
And people are influenced for helping because they care about someone or when they see someone who is facing difficulty they also feel that pain and help. This "care" for others influence them to help. And people who dont help they are shy or they feel like if they help others. They will be discouraged. There are also such kinda people if someone is dying in front of them, even they dont look at them. They just go straight without paying attention.
Foot-in-the-door phenomenon technique - we use it when we try to get a particular thing like almost by cheating. First we say small request to make someone agree with something in order to make him agree to bigger request later. For example, I ask from my friend that I need raw materials to build my home if he says yes I have and he gives me them. Then I say him could you also help me to build my home please. Then he cannot say no and he says yeah. Here by asking raw materials (small request), I made him to help me with building or reconstructing my home (bigger request).
